The main stage once again transforms to a sweaty club where drinks flow and the party seems eternal. Turku City Theatre welcomes Cabaret back.
The story follows a writer Clifford Bradshaw living in post-World War I Berlin. In the year 1931 the center of the nightlife is Kit Kat Club, where everyone is allowed to be who they are – or desire to be. At the club Clifford meets Sally Bowles, a performer who shines as the brightest star of the show. For a brief moment they share something that feels like a passionate dream, but when a new war approaches, it’s time to wake up.
Based on a play by John van Druten and a story by Christopher Isherwood, the music is composed by Joe Masteroff with lyrics by Fred Ebb. The musical is in Finnish (translated by Esko Elstelä with song lyrics translated by Jukka Virtanen), with English surtitles.
