Hildur pushes against her surfboard and swims through petrol blue water, further and further away from the reality that awaits her on the beach. The detective’s work in Iceland’s missing children’s unit is not happenstance, as the fate of her own siblings has led her to it. Now the work has brought her brutal murders to solve, which seem to be connected only by the old folk tale about the 13 Santa Clauses. Ominous visions of the future weigh on Hildur’s mind, like grey clouds pouring over the fjords. At the same pace as the knitted sweater by her Finnish colleague Jakob progresses, new clues emerge from Hildur’s past and secrets unravel.
The long-awaited premiere is dramatised by Satu Rasila and directed by Anne Rautiainen. Asta Sveholm and Sami Lalou, Turku City Theatre’s new actors, will transform into detectives Hildur Rúnarsdóttir and Jakob Johanson. Linda Hämäläinen, Stefan Karlsson, Tom Petäjä, Ulla Reinikainen, Kirsi Tarvainen and Linda Wiklund will be seen in other roles.
